Foreign Currency Exchange Service

When you have a need for foreign currencies, HSBC offers you 22 foreign currencies to choose from, available in both savings account and time deposit account.

You can exchange from Yen to foreign currencies, or vice versa, in 2 ways:

• Account Transfer : Telegraphic Transfer Buying (TTB) and Telegraphic Transfer Selling (TTS) rates

Rates Update

The TTM rates, as well as the cash buying and cash selling rates, are updated on each business day. which will be valid throughout the business day.

Transaction Channels

You may conduct foreign exchange by visiting the HSBC Premier Centres, via Telephone Banking Service and HSBC Personal Internet Banking.

HSBC offers the foreign currency cash exchange service over the counter at HSBC Premier Centres (USD, EUR, GBP and HKD) until 15:00 on weekdays.
※ Please notify us 2 business days in advance for withdrawal over JPY 1.5 million equivalent.

Transaction Time and Value Day

You can conduct transactions during the HSBC Premier Centres opening hours, and 24 hours around the clock via Telephone Banking Service and HSBC Personal Internet Banking.

For transactions placed before the cut-off time, they will be valued today; if the transactions placed after the cut-off time, they will be valued on the next business day.

* For CZK, HUF, PLN, AED, KWD and THB transactions done at a branch or Call Centre, the value date will be the next business day if the order is placed before cut-off time.
If the order is placed after cut-off time, the value date will be 2 business days after the order date.
