HSBC Transfer Service to Meet Your Money Management Needs
HSBC offers you 2 kinds of fund transfer services (i) overseas remittance and (ii) local transfer to facilitate your daily money management needs.
The transfer service is available via Yen Savings Account and Multi Currency Savings Account.
When conducting transfer in CNY, please transfer money to CNY Multi Saving Account first. If you try to transfer directly from JPY Yen Savings etc on Internet Banking, inappropriate Foreign exchange fee might be charged.
Overseas Remittance
By using the remittance service, you are transferring funds to the eligible overseas countries. You can transfer funds to your own HSBC accounts, to others’ accounts within HSBC, or to accounts outside HSBC.
- Overseas remittance to China is not available in Chinese yuan.
- Notes on Remittance in Chinese yuan toward Hong Kong
- The Bank has no limit for overseas remittance in Chinese yuan toward Hong Kong. However, there might be the cases that there is a limit for receiving the overseas remittance in Hong Kong side as the foreign exchange is limited to CNY 20,000 per person per day in Hong Kong.
- Although CNY 20,000 per day is a guide for the limit of receiving the overseas remittance in Hong Kong, actual limit shall be confirmed by directly contacting the receiving Banks.
- Transaction might be rejected and the funds might be returned due to restrictions on receiving Banks side. Please note that we will not refund the remittance fee in such cases. It might take several days to return the funds.

- Tokyo Branch of The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited
- HSBC Premier Call Centre
- HSBC Personal Internet Banking
- Local Transfer in foreign currency and Foreign Exchange Yen Clearing System are not available. - Mail-in Application
- Please note that the transaction will be executed after we confirm your request by telephone, etc.
Cancellation/Change Request
You can cancel or amend your application via Tokyo Branch of The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited or HSBC Premier Call Centre, which costs JPY 2,500 per request.
Service Value Today Cut-off Time
If requests were received before the value today cut-off time of the respective currency, they will be processed on the same business day; if requests were received after the value today cut-off time of the respective currency, they will be processed on the next business day or later.

Exchange Rate
The exchange rate to be applied shall be HSBC Telegraphic Transfer Buying and Telegraphic Transfer Selling rates at the time when the transaction is executed.

By using the local transfer service, you can transfer yen funds to your own accounts in Japan or to others’ accounts in Japan.
